Excellent question! There are several things that this program offers that you generally won’t find with free content:

  1. What you’ll learn
Instead of focusing on learning how to emulate a certain style of music, solo techniques, or learning how to play songs, Dave’s program focuses on teaching you the real-world skills that will make you a marketable guitar player. With these skills, you will then be able to master any style of music, create solos with your own personal sound, create songs and guitar parts yourself, among many other things.
  2. Printed Material
Each weekly lesson includes a downloadable pdf file with all of the important information you’ll need for the lesson. The material is notated in traditional music notation as well as guitar tablature, so if you don’t yet read music, this will make the transition easier.
  3. Lick & Jam
In addition to warm-ups, reading exercises, ear training, and triads, each lesson has a section called the Lick and Jam. In this section, Dave teaches you a guitar lick which is based on the skills covered in that lesson, and then provides a 3 to 5 minute backing track for you to use the lick to jam along with. You can use this time to implement the skills learned in the lesson all while having a fun time jamming out! Also included with each lesson is a video of a 10-minute looped version of the backing track, so that once you are comfortable with the lick, you can jump over to the Extended Jam video and jam out and get creative for an extended period without worrying about having to re-start the video. 4. Get personal coaching and instruction directly from Dave
The Premium Membership allows you to interact directly with Dave through a messaging portal on the web site. Sign up for the Premium Membership and you’ll be able to ask Dave specific questions, send videos of yourself playing and have Dave critique your playing, and receive coaching and feedback directly from Dave.
